I stripped out my old connection to the machine by cross threading the connection and ruined the hose. With this quick connect, it is a one time thread and no more chances of cross threading. It is much easier now to disconnect the hose when done working for storage. Anyone with a pressure washer needs this.

I recently purchased a craftsman quick release kit and a new pressure wand for the craftsman pressure washer I own. The problem I found to me was very poor engineering!! I'd like them to know it's impossible to fit a male end of the hose to a male quick release or male end of the hose to the male end on the gun! I'm left trying to locate a coupling to mate two different size male ends, just to get it to work. Go figure, this is the worst item I've ever purchased in all the years of buying thousands of dollars of craftsman tools. Maybe they will read this and get those dare engineers to correct this simple fix, which should've been done right the first time. thanks and hope this can help others from spending money on something that doesn't work as described. Yes, you need to buy two kits, ONE FOR THE GUN AND ONE FOR THE PUMP, (SAVE YOUR HOSE) the real product in the store brings only one set of connections (MALE AND FEMALE)They said the internet is wrong. (i hope they fixit, or fix the price, is expensive and i need the other conection for an extra hose by example. THE PRODUCT: PERFECT FIT, GOOD MATERIAL, AND EXCELENT HANDLING, MAKE YOUR LIFE EASY. Looks and feels heavy duty. You will need two sets of these. One for the hose to gun, and hose to machine. Knowing that you will have to disconnect everything after every use, this item is a must.
