I purchased this hoping that I would be able to use it on my motorcycle. While it does work and was easy to install. I have to be right on top of my garage door for the remote to activate. Anything past 20 feet from the receiver is non operational.

This remote control adapter does what it is supposed to do. It allows other garage door openers to be operated with the new Craftsman black-button remotes (one included in this kit). I had no trouble installing it and the included remote is pre-programmed to link with the adapter. By plugging the adapter into the duplex receptacle on the ceiling that powers the GDO, the included bell wire is WAY more than enough to get the job done.

I received my items around 6 pm today and had it installed by 6:30 pm the same day. Very simple and works like I wanted. I had another remote system that was coded like another neighbors system which created my door opening without me knowing. The new remote system fixed that problem as well with the new installation. I now have two remotes coded on one system, without anyone else having access to my garage. Thank you Sears, for good products such as these.

This took about an hour to install; not a problem. I didn't order it online because the description of the thing online DID NOT explain that both the remote and the new receiver were in the same package. I'm not stupid, but being online savvy (therefore suspicious), I could not be certain from the photo of whether the product included both the new receiver AND the remote, or just the remote, overpriced though it would have been. It could have been showing the receiver just to be sure the buyer knew whch remote clicker went with this receiver. All that aside, I went to the local Sears store where I found an opened unit and bought it. Came home with it. The instructions were pretty easy if one didn't overthink them. Some previous buyer had compromised the packaging and the product itself, but left everything there, so a little engineering was required to get the bell wire to install on the receiver. But, an hour after starting, I had the new remote working, the old remotes working, and the remote keypad working. All is good. Thanks Sears. Hope it doesn't break down soon! :-) ... (I just can't really figure out why the original receiver (installed 1991) went bad, lost power, or no longer responded to the remotes. What's up with that? Satellites last for decades with the same kids of circuit boards; why can't these?)

Quick and easy install. I noticed the receive range was shorter than my old unit, so i added about 36 inches of wire to the antenna. This allowed the unit to work better than the one I replaced. My garage is built with all concrete walls and a thick, foil insulated door, so I needed a bit more sensitivity on the receiver. I am very happy with this unit, and I did not have to replace my entire old, but very robust Craftsman opener!

Had no issues with learning any codes - no need for me to do so because it just plain worked out of the box. Easy install, ample wire shipped with device.

I have an ancient Craftsman Opener in my house and when my last fucntional remote quit I just took to parking out front of my house and leaving my car in the street since replacement remotes are not available. The instructions say to wire this product directly to the opener itself. But I spliced this unit in series with the existing control button and it works fine. Got this kit along with the fingerprint reader and both work flawlessly. Antenna could be a bit better though, however it's otherwise a fantastic product.
