Craftsman Replaceable Blade Snips Make Tough Cuts

Turn metal into butter with the replaceable blade snips. These gray cast magnesium handled blades are half the weight of your typical forged steel handle and are stronger than cast aluminum. The handle length is 12.5 inches, so it gives you a good grasp when cutting through those stainless steel sheets.

The blades are made out of carbon steel, and the snips weigh just less than a pound at 0.813 lbs. You know you are holding quality because these are guaranteed for life.

the snips are great quality, but you cannot find the replaceable blades anywhere. Hence the name Craftsman Replaceable Blade Snips. I have searched for the blades on lineand at my local Sears store and still no luck. I went to Sears today and got the part number off of the bag and tried to look it up on their site and nothing came back. I like to have 2 sets of blades, one for shingles and one for aluminum and vinyl.

It cut the steel bookcase wall no problem !!!

I bought one of those steel bookcases and had to trim the sides by 6 inches. I used a rotary tool and it took forever to cut the steel wall. I spent hours working on it. I finally got the wall cut but then I discovered it was still 2 inches too tall for the ceiling. So I went to Sears the next day and bought these snips. It literally took about 10 minutes to cut the 2 inches off. I could only cut an inch at a time. The wall was 12 inches across. I was amazed at how easily it cut the steel , when I used hacking tools, utility knives, hacksaws, etc. and they could not cut it with such ease. But because of the big size of the snips , I could not utilize the full cutting area ,which is 4 inches across. I could only cut about an inch per snip. The handles were oversized as well. So after each snip I had to reposition the blades to cut further. I had about one half an inch of bulky metal per blade to deal with as well. Maybe in the future they could design snips that are thinner width wise and not as long length wise. Maybe have a longer cutting area by 2 to 4 inches. I checked the price for the replacement blades and they come out to $9.95 at Sears. Maybe future packages could come with replacement blades included. Just a suggestion.

      The best tin snips ever

I like how big, strong yet very light these tin snips are. These are by far the best tin snips I have ever owned and the best part is they say Craftsman.

      Good solid snips

Snagged these on sale, can't complain about that! Sturdy and large gripped, they cut through the galvanized steel really nice. Haven't done a blade change oln them yet but it looks pretty easy.

these craftsman blade snips cut great and are easier on my hands

I bought a set for me about a year ago. i do a fair amount of sheetmetal work,so i needed something comfortable. these are more comfortable than the cast "scissors" snips that i was using, plus they protect my hand from the sharp edges. My dad is an hvac man and he still uses the scissor type,so i bought him a pair of these aluminum blade snips. Maybe he'll like them as much as i do. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
