I have had these work lights a long time and rarely had to change the bulbs. Having a spare is a good idea, so I bought one a while back for $2. When it finally did go, I find out that they are now $3 each. That seems a bit high. I wish that they sold them in pairs (or multiples) and gave a discount for multiples. I'd buy more then. At $3 each, I'll only buy what I need. The only potential issue, is that they don't seem to take shocks very well. One of bulbs broke when the light fell over. So, other than the cost, I have no issues with them. I use these lights FAR more than the Flouresent version because of the brightness and intensity for locallized areas.

It lasted for less than an hour with no external causes for failure (no bumping or dropping or any other form of abuse). The quality of these bulbs makes the light completely worthless. I wonder if the company that makes the bulbs (Dorcy) realizes that, fully charged, the light produces more like 20-20.3 volts?
I have had the 19.2 volt lamp & drill for years....the lamp is always blowing lamps....just a minor nudge or even turning the lamp head will cause the bulb to pop. Lets get a new vendor for these lamps...or even better go LEB
I loved the craftsman 19.2 floodlight, and used it for years, with occasional problems with dud replacement bulbs. After I upgraded to the new, ithium ion base and charger, I noticed the bulbs blow out right away, sometimes within minutes of. or WHILE putting them in. Suspect the new battery/charger is too powerful--lots of wasted money.
I have never gone through so many light bulbs in a flashlight in my life. Just by setting the 19.2 cordless flashlight down causes the filament to break and burn out. At $2.99 a bulb, I have gone through six in the last two months. Guess this is how they keep getting you to come back to the store to buy more lightbulbs. I bought this light based on the Craftsman reputation and expected the quality to be there. What do you want from a bulb made in China?
