Needed to do some retaining rings on my Harley and my old ones broke a long time ago so I needed new ones. Liked the ability to switch from internal to external

This was exactly what I needed. The inclusion of 3 different replaceable tip sets is a great feature. And I love that it is made in USA

Retaining Pliers are great because they are 2 tools in one. Easy to use and lifetime warranty. Thanks Craftsman you make my job easier.

Was not able to use them for what they are made for because they broke after the first use. Very disappointed, ususally I am happy with the crafstman quality not this time though. I hope this isn't a sign for the demise of Sears, they are an icon. I would hate to see the end of Sears.

These pliers are quite good for the money. These are the smaller pair and actually, I only intended to purchase the larger ones. I bought them both. The tips can be changed very easily with the turn of an Allen wrench. I have been told that the tips can easily break, however, I have yet to experience anything like that. I'm not easy on my tools and think that these will stand up to the test. It was between these and the regular Craftsman ring nose pliers and I'm glad that I purchased these. They feel heave and sturdy enough for long hard use.

This Ring Pliers is quickly and easily converted from internal pliers to an external pliers with the flick of a switchable. Much easier than models that require disassembly to convert. I don't have a problem with the foam grip handles sliding off - but I've got some 'glue' if I experience that problem in the future. Comes with 5 pairs of replaceable tips and an allen / hex wrench to let you use thise pliers on a variety of size retaining rings/ C- Clips.

These are well made pliers. Also Made in USA. These are the small version of the pliers with an opening range of 1-inch. For my application, the larger model (#47412) with a 2-inch opening would have been easier to use.

These are great and I love how easy it is to change them from internal to external...however, that same mechanism that makes it so easy is also their biggest drawback. Because of the bump that protrudes from the middle of the pliers, it's very hard to get these in tight to the object you're working on. For example, while rebuilding my fork, I had to get to a snap ring inside of a tube (with a diameter of 30mm) and there was a rod inside the tube occupying another 5mm. Because of the tight confines, that bump was pressed right up against the rod in the middle in order to get at the internal snap ring. Other than that, a great product.
