Best awl anywhere

I use this alot for marking and starting screws. It is superior to all others that I have owned because it is (1)full sized and (2) the long taper enables it to fit in small or deep holes unlike some others with a cylindrical tine and short point. When my previous one was stolen, I bought another one. Can't be without it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Scratch Awl

What a great little tool this is!  Far more uses than most people realize!  I can use it to center where I want a screw in a piece of wood or break up ice in a cooler.  I can make a new hole in my leahter belt or scratch a cut line in a sheet of steel.

Great tool with many uses!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman scratch awl is sturdy, precise, and easy to see

The awl was economical and is very durable. It is exactly what I needed and was much easier to purchase than to make from scratch.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This Tool is AWL RIGHT

I needed a replacement AWL and of course I looked to craftsman. An Awl is a simple tool, but, there are quality differences and you will like the quality of this Craftsman USA made AWL. Western Forge in Colorado makes this AWL for Craftsman. It is durable, sharp, and just the right size for most needs. This craftsman AWL marks well and maintains a sharp point. It is heat treated for long life and this may be the last AWL you ever buy because it has a life time warranty. This is an excellent purchase and a must have tool for most people. This Craftsman AWL has many uses, but was designed for marking metal. It comes in handy when working on small engine carburetors.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I Love Scratch Awls - Especially This One

How many hammers do you have? How many flat-head screwdrivers?

Probably more than one. Right?

Thats because they are each a little different and are designed to serve a different and specific needs.

Are Scratch Awls different? Of course not!

You may have read my review of the Craftsman Professional Scratch Awl. I love that Awl. But this little guy serves a different purpose. I use my Professional Awl for marking witness marks and lines on my wood stock. The shape of the Pro series lends itself better to acting like a pencil.

This Craftsman Awl is much stubbier. It works well for marking starter holes for drilling and driving screws. The short shaft allows you to place the handle in the palm of your hand allowing for a great deal of force to be applied to the tool. It even works well for making starter holes in hard woods like Oak and Hickory.

I think you'll love both of these awls as much as I do, but if nothing else I have given you another excellent excuse to by another tool. No thanks are necessary.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Put away the pencil

Woodworkers and weekend warriors, put away the pencil and pick up this scratch awl.

This scratch awl has a great feel and is very nice at making very precise marks everytime.  Use it marking lengths to cut or press it down and make your marks for whatever you may be doing from setting marks for nails, screws, or just hanging a picture.  This scratch awl has been a great find for me and I highly recommend it since it doesn't dull out like a pencil does over time.  You'll get accurate marks each and everytime which translates into fewer headaches for you in your projects.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The best all around scratch awl around!

I use my scratch awl from marking to punching starter holes in projects.  I couldn't live without it, especially for the guaranteed forever making it the best quality ever.
