Product Description

Stay Ready with this Craftsman Sharpener Attachment

With this sharpener attachment for lawn mower you can keep your cutting edge finely honed at all times. The sharpener slips easily onto the blade, screwing on firmly. A guide directs the blade to the proper sharpening angle. The result: blades that haven't been this sharp since the day you brought it home. You'll see the difference in your lawn, too, when you lose the ragged look that happens when dull blades pull and damage your lawn instead of cleanly slicing the grass.

The Craftsman sharpener attachment, for lawn mower and garden works on a variety of other outdoor tools, too, including hoes, shovels and shears, meaning that you won't have to work nearly as hard when your equipment isn't working against you. Use the sharpener on chain saw blades to extend their life and delay an investment in new blades. The attachment fits many lawn mower brands, including Craftsman and Dremel.

  • Keep your rotary mower blades as sharp as the day your brought them home with this sharpener attachment, for lawn mower and garden
  • The sharpener also works on tools such as shovels, hoes and shears
  • It will work on some chain saw blades as well
  • The sharpener easily attaches to a range of tools
  • A guide steels the tool toward the right sharpening angle
  • Dimensions are 8.4 by 5.1 by 3 inches
  • Weight is 0.14 pounds

The Craftsman Rotary Tool - Blade Sharpener Works as Advertised
This inexpensive and easy to use tool accessory is about as straight-forward as a sharpening guide gets. After removing my lawnmower's blade it took me about 20 minutes to sharpen the blade back to, if not beyond its original factory edge. The angled slot takes the guesswork out of getting the correct bevel on the blade, but also restricts movement a little bit. Admittedly I wasn't using the tool as directed, holding the blade 1 hand with my rotary tool in the other - as opposed to using a vice to secure the blade. For a new homeowner this tool saved the money I would have otherwise spent in a bench grinder or time, had I opted to do this job by hand with a file.

Waste of money
The sharpener attachment is difficult to use - it doesn't move along the blade easily. It was easier just to use the grinding wheel without the plastic guide. Save your money and just buy the grinding wheel.

Good rotary tool accessory

It is a little difficult to use and keep even while working down the edge of a lawn mower blade. You can exchange out the grinding stone as it is separate from the guide which is a plus.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not for some lawn mower blades

This does work well for some smaller blades but the opening in the guide is too narrow for my Cub Cadet mower.

Craftsman sharpener for mowers and garden tools is great!

I already owned a Dremmel tool but wanted to see if it could be used to sharpen my mower blade.  Sears had my solution.  Their Craftsman sharpening attachment is simple to use and only costs about $10.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Not Bad. I read to sharpen 3x/yr. This prod. is great for that.

I hired a fertilizer company to weed and feed 5 times a year. I read in a brochure that they gave me that said you should sharpen your mower blade 3 times a year. This product is great for that if you have a dremel or maybe you could use a dremel for something else. I use my dremel for RC airplanes and cutting drywall around electrial boxes. The grinders are standard and replacements are only a dollar or so. I hope this helps. Adam Bleile, Norwalk, OH
