The instructions for mounting the strap on a weedwhacker are not well written and there is no picture of how/where the mounting bracket should be placed. Is it that hard to have a picture of where to place the mounting bracket? Really? And the strap has no shoulder pad, so it cuts into your neck. For $12 there should be a pad.

i purchased a leaf blower and it was recommed to get the shoulder strap. It works very well and if you do alot for leaf blowing it is very handy.

It's a strap, I think for $12 it should have a pad or something. It works with the holes provided on the gas blower and it comes with an adapter for use with the gas trimmer. It is adjustale to accommodate a tall guy like myself, that's nice.

I returned this strap when I returned the Craftsman Pro blower because I didn't need it. But, had I kept the blower, I would have needed to exchange the strap for a new one. The snaps are of poor quality and one of them had the spring portion of the snap flip out past the snap frame instead of remaining behind it. The web material is barely acceptable and there is no shoulder pad. Cheaply made. If the company plans to use these, they should be free, not $12. But then, I wouldn't want a poorly made strap included with the equipment, either. Make it to last, please.

I recently bought a model 79117 gas powered line trimmer. It's been great, but the thing weighs 18 pounds. Even though it's well balanced it gets heavy after a while. This strap helps a lot. It comes with a plastic mounting bracket that clamps to the boom. The bracket has spacers to allow it to attach to 2 different size booms. You attach the bracket at the balance point between the handle and throttle grip. Then, put your head and right arm through the strap and adjust it so the trimmer hangs about waist high. This will allow you to operate the trimmer with your right hand, while your left hand is free to move low-hanging limbs out of the way. For less than 12 bucks, this strap is a must-have and should have been included in the box. If you buy the same trimmer with the brush cutter attachment included, they do throw in the strap. I only wish it were nicely padded like the one on the Craftsman Professional model.

I can't believe the 20-lb. gas-powered string trimmers don't come with a strap! This item is absolutely necessary. Highly recommended.
