Great tool if you use it for its intended purpose

This little soldering iron work's great for its intended purpose.  No soldering iron is designed for heavy duty soldering.  That's why they make soldering guns.

I've noticed that so many of these negative reviews are written by people who have tried to use the tool for another purpose than it design can sustain.

Oh, my soup spoons are a bad design because when I tried to shovel the snow off my drive with them they didn't work very well...

Ok only for VERY light work
I bought this to solder some speaker crossovers I was assembling, because my old soldering iron died on me. When it's at operating temperature, it works fine, but when it reaches the shutdown temperature and cools down, it takes forever to heat back up for normal use

Pretty good

at first I was trying to use a butane torch that was from **************. Worst experience in my life. After returning the third one I was done. This heats up quick and does what its suppose to do. Good tool.

GREAT PRODUCT!

This soldering iron is perfect for my soldering needs. I have another brand item that has not met up to my expectations. This Craftsman product is made with good quality and works very well.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overheats

The nickel alloy barrel of the iron changed color due to excessive heat. It is described as a general purpose tool but it is way too hot for electrical components. I would return it for a refund, but I noticed that the guarantee only allows a replacement. So I guess I am stuck with it.
