I have been using this as my primary screw driving attachment for years. The small size means it is more versitile than the longer screw drive I have. It is not much longer than the non-screw drive models with interchangeable bits so it still works well in more confined spaces.

I've used the screw guide on my 12x50 deck when I put down the decking. I've also used it on a fort for my grandson and on a 30 foot walkway over my parking area. So I've screwed down many hundreds of screws. This simple tool makes the job much easier with fewer problems with screwhead stripping. The magnet holds the long deck screw in place and the sleeve slides down over the shaft of the screw and allows you to apply the proper pressure to both start the screw and seat the screw without having to concentrate on keeping the pressure directly on top of the screwhead.

I have used the Speed-Lok on jobs where 4000 + screws were used a day and it gets the job done well! Cheap enough to buy another if it should experience extreme abuse. Holds screws, slides easy, bits fit perfectly, and its affordable! Good job Craftsman!

When working around the house you end up with multiple types of screw heads to work with this makes this task much easier. Just pop out the bit and slid the other type in.

I have always kept a small handful of the magnetic extenson drivers and all the different tips that can come needed in any situation. Anyone with any experience with driving screws knows you must have weight behind the push when inserting. If your job calls for longer screws this pushing to set often causes a wobble to entry, or a bent screw. This is one example of where this Craftsman speed-lok setter comes into its own. The Craftsman speed lock is a new design over the traditional magnetic extension bit holder. This new design has a body that slides out and in on its length. Recently I scabbed onto a weather rotted deck with new treated lumber and installed new handrails and pickets to refurbish the deck to a new and solid state. I used deck screws that were 4 inches long and my cordless drill. This screw guide was a big help to speeding up the work. Insert the driver in your drill. Set a screw onto the correct driver tip and slide the body of the setter down to enclose or sheath your screw leaving just the tip of the screw exposed. Then drive the screw where you need it. As the length of the screw goes into your material the sheath of the setter retracts back onto itself. Load and repeat. Setter is especially helpful as another hand to hold the screw on those occasions when you are reaching to access your work. Dis a goodn'

This Craftsman Speed-lok compact screw guide is well worth the money paid. First off it is Made in the U.S.A! When in use it drives in the screws without the screw wobbling. It also comes with 3 bits a P1, P2 and a 6-8 slotted. Again a great buy and I have no Cons on this item.
