items are solid, and fairly easily assembled despite the bent flange issue many people have complained about. Big problem is trying to get a lawn tractor over that "hump" at the top of the rise. Very very difficult to do without a couple of people to lift the mower and deck manually. Also, the bolts should have been recessed so they don't drag on the deck.
You have to assemble these. Fine. But, the lock washers provided with these ramps are of steel, so mild that, with a palm style ratchet wrench, the washers splayed and opened up around the bolts, rather than grip the nuts and the steel ramp surfaces. This was with VERY little tightening. Total worthless and unsafe. I replace the damaged the lock washers and called the factory to tell them they had been ship a batch of lock washers made of mild steel. Lock washers are supposed to be VERY hard steel so they will bite into the surfaces in which they come in contact. Without replacing the lock washers, these bolts would have come loose with little use. Also, there is no diagram or picture of the ramps in place with the anti-kickback straps in place. I had to look at other makers products on Google to see where they go. Worse, the strap buckles don't lock the straps in place. With any cinching tension at all, they slip, so the ramps can kick back anyway. Dangerous.
After searching the internet, reading reviews, and pricing ramps at local stores for about a week, I desided to get these ramps. They looked great said they were curved so mower deck had clearance, they were longer than most, had cleats for traction, reviews were good, sounded great....until I got them home. As with other reviews the bolt hole tab/ear was bent had to be straightent out no biggie. Problems started when I tried to load the mower. The incline is to steep, when I was going up the ramps the frontend of the mower started to lift up off the ramps, then the back wheels started to spin (cleats didn't grip) mower started to slide sideways off the ramp. I thought I was going to flip it over on top of me. Then I thought how about backing it up the ramps, nope tires just spun no traction. Maybe if you are loading onto a 2wd or lower setting 4x4 pickup they might work great but they didn't on my 2010 F-150. So definetly not what I expected, So I returned them, went to lumber yard got a pair of 8' boards, put on ramp end kit, no problems loading or unloading.
Purchased ramps to assist with transporting new riding mower. Delivery fee $75--why not pay a little more up front and have resources to transport lawn mower in the future? Great value for the money--purchased on sale with a customer reward coupon. Ramps easy to assemble and use. Instructions clear and concise.
