Good spool
When replacing original spool, you must remove the spring and retainer from that spool. This spring and retainer will be reused in new spool.

Waste of money and time

The instructions to get it in properly were inadequate and proved to be difficult.  Once I got it done and used the weed whacker it spit all of it out and I couldn't use it anymore.  Have not had this trouble with other brands.  Waste!

Incomplete Craftsman String Trimmer Replacement Spool

I purchased a Craftsman Weed Whacker, 15" about two years ago.  I was excited because it was so much wider than a more common 12" one.  Somehow over the course of the winter, I misplaced the string spool to make it function.  I went to several Sears stores to find a replacement, but none of them are sold with spring that makes the clutch release when you "bump" the trimmer on the ground.  I'm sure the old spring is attached to the misplaced old spool.  I tried several Sears stores to find just a spring, then went to another home improvement store and found one - just to come home and realize it is too big... in its compressed state, it doesn't allow the spool to be locked into the trimmer.  I solved the problem with some high density foam padding stuffed in the chamber, to give the repacement spool the necessary springiness.

Sears needs to sell replacement spools with the spring inside them.  This was way too complicated for something that shold have been straightforward and simple.

craftsman string trimmer spool

I bought the Craftsman string trimmer spool, it works great. If the string breaks all you do is bump the trimmer and more comes out. It is very high quality string. It does not break easily. The spool lasts all summer long. yes I would recommend it to everyone. I will buy 1 for my Dad too. I will use 1 in a box, I will use 1 with a fox...lol

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Replacement spool, doesn't come with spring for trimmer

I had to get this spool because I got a used trimmer for way cheap at Sears, but it didn't have the spool.  Unfortunately, we then spent an hour or so trying to find a spring that would work for the "bump" feature so that it would actually work properly.  Granted, the spring isn't costly, but it's something you should know going into it.  If you've got the old spring, go for it.  If you don't, you should probably find a spring or a different spool.  Over all, it does the job I need it to.

Spool is fine...............the weed eater is ridiculous!

One should not need 5 spools to do a quarter acre's worth of trimming and edging!

The feed mechanism is terrible, sensitive, and doesn't hold enough line to be useful!

I went back and fixed the old single line trimmer that I replaced with this new double line. The single is 11 years old and still runs well.

.065 Replacement Trimmer Line

I bought this as a spare spool so that I will always have a "fully-loaded" spool for use. The only issue that I find is the fact that it only allows a diameter of .065. This is fairly small actually. I will probably jury-rig it to accept a larger diameter jagged shapped line. Don't lose the spring of the original unit; this does not come with the spring.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
