T5 Torx Driver does more than I ever expected,

I can only tell you that the more I use this torx driver, the more I love it.  I threw away my hammer and drill because they can not do what this T5 driver does.  My socket set is beginning to irrittate me, now.  The entire 105 pieces are usless for the job that this single tool can do.  What is it that make this one driver so amazing?  It fits in the head of a T5 torx screw.

I am not a proud man.  I never boasted of my fairly complete tool set.  I can build a barn in 14 hours.  But, could I remove a T5 size screw?  No!  Not until now.

Thank you Sears.  Thank you Mr. Craftsman.  Thank you President Obama.  My tool set is complete!

      Cheap DON'T BUY!

I bought this screwdriver just like everyone else, to take appart a cellphone. I got through 2 of the screws before the screwdriver's teeth stripped! I could not believe it. I thought if anything, the screw would strip, but no. I took it back for a replacement, and the same thing happends again. I love Craftsman, but this is just not a well made product.

      Excellent fine Torx precision screwdriver

I already had the T6-T9 Craftsman precision Torx screwdrivers but found I needed a T5 to fit the really small screws on the back of my very old Palm m515 which needed a new LiPo battery. I know, I know, get a smartphone. Anyway, I was happy to see that my local Sears had the T5 to match the rest of my precision Torx set and picked it up for $4.49 which I thought was OK for a single Craftsman item. I like this style because the barrel is larger in diameter than most precision screwdrivers to give better torque and easier handling. I see that compared to the ones I bought years ago, Craftsman has lost the knurling at the top of the barrel just below the green spinner end, but with a bit as fine as the T5, you really don't need the knurling. The barrel is plenty large enough to get a good grip on the tool. The machining on the T5 bit was very good since it fit the screws on the back of the m515 perfectly with little slop and didn't get jammed into the screw under torque. Good tool, recommended.

The BEST Precision Screwdriver Set Available...

Often you encounter a fastener that is simply too small for any traditional screwdriver. I run into these frustrating little devils all the time when trying to change out the batteries in my grandchildren's toys. Since the mid 90's, toy manufacturers have started putting locking screws in the battery covers of their toys to keep kids from accidentally swallowing batteries. It is a really great safety feature for the toy, but it can be annoying to change the batteries if you don't have the proper screwdriver.

The problem is that there is no standard on the size and tip type of these fasteners. In order to make sure you are prepared for any fastener you may encounter it is important to have a very large assortment of Precision Screwdrivers.

Don't worry however; Craftsman has you covered with their Craftsman Precision Screwdriver collection. Within this collection of tools, you will find a variety of sizes in Slotted, Phillips and Torx bit types. Each Tool type is also available in multiple lengths so that you can choose just the right screwdriver for your application. The features of these screwdrivers include:

      1. Precision ground tips for precise contact with the fastener provide for good torqueing without the danger of slippage. This protects the fastener and the screwdriver.
      2. Smooth, rounded and highly polished shafts to make clean-up easy.
      3. Ergonomically designed handle for a comfortable grip.
      4. Color-coded handles enable you to distinguish the different tip types at a glance.
      5. Spinner cap on the end of the handle is clearing mark with the tip size.

Now I suppose it is possible that they should be other features included to create to world's most perfect Precision Screwdriver, but I can't think of any. Can you?

Another little gem in the tool arsenal

Another item in the Craftsman specialty tool kit purchased years ago. The T5 is not a size I use often, but once again, nice knowing it is there if needed. Especially helpful since I do not believe I have a T5 torx socket bit.

Designed for precision use when regular sized torx scredrivers are too big.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Torx size 5 precision screwdriver is good, but limited.

This screwdriver is well designed for comfort, but is only designed to be a screwdriver.  It is not designed for prying or used as a punch.  It has a metal bit/shaft connected to a swiveling plastic handle.  The weak point is where the metal meets the plastic.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
