Great deal for all that is included

This was a no brainer for me as well. I needed a multimeter as well as an ammeter and obviously this has both. Knowing the infared thermometer was $80 made this a super great buy. The voltage detector at $30, clamp meter at $30, and multimeter at $35 this was a steal. I have compared the reading to fluke models first hand and actually get better readings through the multimeter in this pack. I wish it came with alligator clips but since it came with a temperature sensing probe and normal leads how could I complain. The carrying bag is just another added bonus and has plenty of room for extra accessories such as alligator clips or a bigger meter. All in all on of the best purchases I've made.

I did like the idea of an amp meter section that was not directly connected to the meter, but it is not accurate. To test it, I amped a wire with 2 field piece meters and came up with 6.3 amps on both. Unfortunately the craftsman stated 4.8 amps. Same type problem showed up when using temp probe. This meter will give you a basic idea on what is happening, but not accurate enough to do diagnostics on internal components of an item.

Spend some more and buy Fluke Dmm

In short spend a little bit moe and buy a fluke. Continuity check does no latch quick at all ( like the  fluke 87) and vary scrachy. Only 200 microfared cap check. every thing else on dmm ok. A dmm you won`t mind to much if you melt it down. Would of liked silicone insulated test leads, but I guess fluke spoils you. I really like the laser temp check thing, 2 thumbs up. The amp probe only 200 amps and max 300 volt would of liked 600 v like meter max volts. The voltage check thing,I havent tried.

Test Instrument Kit

Not worth the price. Voltage tester would not work and laser temperature and multi-meter temperture testers were 11 degrees off. Returned back to Sears.

it was lower than expected.

I'm Auto electrician by trade school and I was looking the way to measure up DC current quick and easy so I thought that clamp adapter (200 A) would be the answer, it didn't work for me. Actually I couldn't measure DC current using the clamp adapter. It works fine in AC current. i would not recommend this to auto electricians but industrial electricians.

Excellent Kit. Great Product @ Great Price = Value

At first i was a little concerned about going for the kit and not just buying a test meter. After the purchase this kit has really impressed me. All 4 items for $100, to me is like paying $25 for each. These tools do everything the fluke testers would do. Now i wouldnt say these are what a licensed electrican would show up on the job with but very comparable. The Voltage Meter, at first, looked a little "Cheesey" to me but after i realized this little thing can fit in my back pocket as i climb an 80' equipment tower, etc i was more than delighted to not have the larger compareable fluke units. The 120VAC tester is perfect for any home troubleshooting and safety on the job. The case is ok, nothing special, but atleast it has a case!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great kit for a DYI person

This kit is a great bargain compared to buying the items individually. The main reason I bought this was for the multimeter which normally would cost $30 by itself. However, the infared temp gauge was $80 by itself, so for another $20 I got everything in the package.

The multimeter has the same accuracy ratings as a $200 fluke. Not sure how the durability of the unit will be, but for the price difference, it was a no brainer. If I was going to use a multimeter everyday as part of my job, I would have bought a Fluke. However, my occasional use of a multimeter did not warrant the expensive unit. While I did splurge and purchased the kit (I like extra gadgets!), the multimeter alone is still a great bargin.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this item. Besides comparing it to a much more expensive Fluke, I also compared it to the Masech 8229. While the Mastech had some really cool features, it was not even close to the same accuracy as a Fluke or the Craftsman.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
