Nice Vacuum - Too Small Hose
To be fair to this product, I must start by saying that my needs are different from what this product is apparently designed to serve, and I suspected that before I bought it , but I was hopeful. I have long looked for a small but powerful shop vacuum to replace the old Sunbeam that I have used for forty years, a compact and effective dry vac with 2.5? ports that fits neatly under my workbench. Unfortunately, the shop vac market seems to subscribe to the ?bigger is better? mentality that precludes good products in small sizes and I have not found a small vac (5-10 gallons) with a 2.5? hose. This vacuum is nicely constructed mostly of plastics. It is compact in size in an elongated shape that fits well in small spaces. It has features not typically found in shop vacs including a retractable cord and exhaust filter. It is supplied with both a cartridge filter and dust bags as well as a foam wet filter. It is unusually quiet and lacks the shrill high frequency components that make most vacuums (shop and home) so obnoxious. What?s not to like? The scrawny 1 ?? hose that is totally unsuited for shop use! The vacuum?s inlet port is 2.5? so why such a small hose? The 7A motor is not as large as those of the monster vac?s but appears to have far more efficient fan design than my old 6.5A, axial flow Sunbeam, which did quite well with a 2.5? hose even at 18 foot length. I purchased this vac along with a 2.5? hose that included adapters for three different connection types. Unfortunately, none of the adapters fit this vacuum and, although I considered all manner of modification, eventually I concluded that none were feasible without major fabrication. I regret that I must return this unit since it is a really nice vac, provided that all of your tasks can be accommodated with a 1?? hose. It?s probably a great vac for indoor use or for cleaning the nooks and crannies of a vehicle interior, but it won?t do for wood chips, oak leaves and other shop debris, even in small quantities.

      not acorns
I had a larger Craftsman wet/dry blow vac and the motor went after 12 years of heavy use. This vac is good for dust and pet hair. There is no information on the air flow (cfm's). I don't mind altering other vac bags to fit. It struggles to pick up chocolate chips, polly pocket shoes or accessories. I will not pick up marbles, acorns, french fries, maple & oak leaves, tiny gravel particles, or finishing nails. I didn't notice lack of a blower port until later. I bought this thinking it would be easier to store, though the hose hangers result requiring about the same amount of storage space.

      i love it

i love this wet/dry vac because of its size, features and motor. I think it's the perfect combo for a household/garage. I actually now own 2 of them. Basically, my old 5Gal shop vac was weak. So I was looking for a better motor and this one has 5hp: check. My shopvac always tipped over because of small wheel and top heavy. this one has big wheels in back and lower center of gravity, never tips over: check. pretty much all wet/dry vacs are LOUD! this one has the quietest motor i have ever heard on a vaccum: check. It's ergonomic in tool storage, cord storage and hose storage: check. I have cleaned my truck with it, especially after a muddy/dusty hunting trip and with dog hair on black interior. it did an awesome job. I bought one for the house too and it has cleaned up everything, plus it is quiet and has a dust filter.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Exchanged before I Opened it

It's a toy made by a good company. Ended up getting a wall unit for my garage, very happy with that one.

4 gallon 5 hp wet dry vac

I have only owned this vac for a couple weeks and used it twice. Light weight, wheels make it mobile, very powerful 5 hp motor, plenty of suction power, and very quiet compared to my 9 gal and 20 gal shop vacs. The main use of this vac is for the garage and vacuuming out my truck interior. Only down fall is retractable cord doesn't work properly. The 5 hp motor is what is on the 12 gal shop vac, so plenty of power.

Best Little All 'Round Vacuum Ever

Don't understand the bad reviews. I think they expect this little vacuum to do the work of an industrial vacuum. I don't use it for yard work, but it handles everything else. I had 1400 sq ft of tile removed from my house and that left a dust storm of biblical proportions. This little vacuum with its fabulous filters took care of everything. Any other vacuum would have been spewing the dust out all over. I have 10' ceilings, and the hose is ample to get to whatever area I need to reach. The suction is strong enough for the finest dust without leaving any residue. It rolls around easily without ever getting caught up. My hoses have never disconnected as others have said. What can I say? I cannot live without this little vacuum. Now I use it as my go to vacuum for vacuuming bookcases, etc. I have a 6HP for outside. I reserve this one for the house, car, shop, etc.

      The vacuum Sucks

The tube sections come apart easily. Electric cord is 3 ft. shorter than my last vac. Filter bag comes off tube when bag is full. Too much plugging in and putting together causes a lot of bad language. Sorry God! But it does suck debris up nicely. Not made in the U.S.A. Buy American.

      Small and Powerful

I needed something primarily for vacuuming a few cars that really needed it. This did the job easily, with lots of power and not a lot of noise.

      Awesome for pet hair!

I have 2 large dogs who spend the cold days inside. With hardwood floors and rugs, this baby gets used every 2 days for dog hair. I can go back and forth easily with all the attachments and it has the power to get all the hair. I fill the 4 gallon bucket up with just one room. It's very lightweight and the power cord retract is a nice feature too. Another fine product from Craftsman, and I own quite a few of them.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
