Nice Vacuum - Too Small Hose
To be fair to this product, I must start by saying that my needs are different from what this product is apparently designed to serve, and I suspected that before I bought it , but I was hopeful. I have long looked for a small but powerful shop vacuum to replace the old Sunbeam that I have used for forty years, a compact and effective dry vac with 2.5? ports that fits neatly under my workbench. Unfortunately, the shop vac market seems to subscribe to the ?bigger is better? mentality that precludes good products in small sizes and I have not found a small vac (5-10 gallons) with a 2.5? hose. This vacuum is nicely constructed mostly of plastics. It is compact in size in an elongated shape that fits well in small spaces. It has features not typically found in shop vacs including a retractable cord and exhaust filter. It is supplied with both a cartridge filter and dust bags as well as a foam wet filter. It is unusually quiet and lacks the shrill high frequency components that make most vacuums (shop and home) so obnoxious. What?s not to like? The scrawny 1 ?? hose that is totally unsuited for shop use! The vacuum?s inlet port is 2.5? so why such a small hose? The 7A motor is not as large as those of the monster vac?s but appears to have far more efficient fan design than my old 6.5A, axial flow Sunbeam, which did quite well with a 2.5? hose even at 18 foot length. I purchased this vac along with a 2.5? hose that included adapters for three different connection types. Unfortunately, none of the adapters fit this vacuum and, although I considered all manner of modification, eventually I concluded that none were feasible without major fabrication. I regret that I must return this unit since it is a really nice vac, provided that all of your tasks can be accommodated with a 1?? hose. It?s probably a great vac for indoor use or for cleaning the nooks and crannies of a vehicle interior, but it won?t do for wood chips, oak leaves and other shop debris, even in small quantities.

Terrific Vacuum: Big Improvements Over Older Models

I bought this Vacuum on a whim to replace a (still working) decade old Craftsman Wet-Dry as my main household vacuum cleaner, and I'm glad I did. The on board tool storage means I don't have to did out my tools from the closet. The automatic cord rewinder makes putting it away much easier. The hose actually screws on to the vacuum, so it will never accidentally pull loose. The latches that attach the top and bottom sections make emptying the bottom (dust bin) much easier than the old model. It seems to get caught-up less on furniture than the old model when pulling it around, I think due to the rounded profile and large rear wheels. It's also much quieter than the old model, and at least as powerful.

love the shop vac

I didn't realize that I need one of these until I got one. It's very useful. I use it around the house cleaning the dust out of the floor and ceiling, as well as ants, spider, water etc. The auto extract cord is very thoughtful design.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Shop vac

I bought this shop vac to clean up after removing old grout on my tile floor. The vac is really quiet compared to other vacs. Also it picks up water really good. I was not that impressed with it for fine particle pick up. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Compact Wet/Vac

I didn't want a full size wet/vac due to the size of my storage room in my basement. This particular wet/vac fits well in the basement storage room and it dose the necessary amount of work for that area.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

4 Gal. 5HP Peak Craftsman Wet-dry vac great for pet cleanup

Fair price, way quieter than earlier types & easy moving in my sunroom to clean up after pet birds & hepa filtration excellent especially compared to my old much smaller wetdry without hepa. I ordered extra dry pick up bags for inside the vac & received about 3 weeks later but vac came with one which worked for me. Overall a great vac & the size of hoses worked for my use. My husband has the larger type for his workshop which handles nuts, bolts, nails, saw dust which I did not need. Hepa filter took care of pet & seed dust which delighted me, no dusty musty smell while vacuuming. Hope this helps other pet owners.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

My New ShopVAc!

I had purchased my original shop vac 17 years ago...it's still working, but I was ready to down-size to a new one that would work well in my garage, as well as other places, yet be easier for this middle-ager to pull around!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Four-Gallon Five-Peak HP Wet-Dry Vac

I purchased this because it was the most compact wet/dry vac with the most HP. I had 3-4 inches of water in my car floorboard due to a leaking windshield. After taking a bowl to scoop out the standing water and then a turkey baster, I was down to sopping wet carpet and this unit did an excellent job of taking out the water that was still in the carpet. It is a very powerful vac and takes up little space. This is an excellent wet/dry vac!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Small vac packs a big punch!

I own and operate an automotive detailing business, and my most recent vacuum, a Shop-Vac, finally bit the dust after about 6 years of heavy-duty usage. While reliability is still under review for this item, I can attest that I enjoy the features of this vacuum way more than my previous one. Let's start with what matters most - POWER! The 5hp motor in this small design creates suction that, while safe to use on any surface, will remove small debris and stubborn items that have worked their ways into fabric fibers. The included tools are all very useful, especially the dual-usage "floor brush" it comes with. This works incredible on SUVs and eliminates pet hair with ease. My only suggestion would be to provide a crevice tool that is even MORE tapered in design to truly reach those difficult and miniscule spots in a car. The small size accomodates maneuverability and portability as well, and it includes ALL filter types you will need. This thing appears to be a real bargain, and only time will tell if the reliability matches the excellence of the features it boasts. Please note that I received an award for my independent review.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
