71102 Trimmer Review and Tips for Smooth Operation: Check it Out.
Hopefully this will help you all out and anyone else who buys this trimmer. I bought one and had it constantly stall out on me only in the off choke setting. I replaced the fuel mixture, cleaned and oiled the air filter and fiddled with the idle screw to no avail. The warranty rep told me to exchange the unit because it was only one week old. The replacement also stalled out in the off choke setting (perhaps even a little worse than the first trimmer did). Something was not clicking so I decided (after a lot of research) to adjust the lo-speed needle (closest of the two special screws towards the engine) on the carburetor (counter clock wise 1/8th of a turn to richen the mixture ? did it without the special Single D carb tool). Doing that plus increasing the idle fixed it. This may help those who have trouble starting it as well (I did not) Since then it?s operated for 45 minutes for two sessions straight with no hesitation or stalling at any rpm. It is a very strong and capable!

Craftsman WeedWacker VERY poorly built

<span>I love Sears and I have loved Cratsman products, but if this represents the future of "Craftsman", I am done. I bought the WeedWacker 2 months ago and had used it maybe 6 times before it wouldn't start anymore. When it did run previously, I had the problem
the same reported by others - it would only run at full speed and idle, but nothing in between and it would try to kill if not given full throttle. Now it won't start at all and I have damaged my shoulder trying to get it started. I checked the spark and the gas and both were fine. Tried to call the 800 number for help and got no answer after 10 minutes on hold. Was loading the trimmer into the car to return it when I notice it was leaking fuel/oil. Looked closer and discovered that the cover where the optional cover attaches was loose. Turns out that it needs to be tight to have compression in the cylinder. Besides being a ridiculous design, the quality control inspectors never caught that the two screws had not been tightened (and one was missing entirely). I am keeping the trimmer for now because I don't have the receipt, but I have NEVER been so disappointed with Sears!</span>

WeedWacker

This Craftsman weedwacker is a good quality gas trimmer that is easy enough to handle for my wife when she wants to help with yard work. The price is right too.

Great Trimmer

The weedwacker Gas Trimmer that we purchased is wonderful. It is exactly what my husband wanted and the fact that you can change the different functions is great. We are looking to next year to buy the edger attachment.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

OK for the price

This weedwacker is ok for light duty. Bogs down quickly when trimming near the fence. Putting the edger on it taxes the engine but still gets the job done. Should have paid the extra $50 for the next one up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

my weeds were out of control

this particular weedwacker was on sale for 99.99. the weeds are out of control this year. also this weedwacker comes with the same pack of easy to change string that is available to buy and the first oil gas stabilizer which is not mentioned on the box. along with the trimmer also purchased was the shoulder strap and I decided to buy the roll of string to cut myself the assembly was easy and the starting instructions are in sight when actually starting it. I also purchased the hedge trimmer accessory which I have not tried as of yet but it looks as though transition is at the push of a button

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Weed wacker gas trimmer 25cc.

Bought one had to return it twice. Had same problem with both, would start and run for no more than 5 minutes. After that they would not start again. Exchanged with an upgraded weed wacker. Will not recommend. I have always bought craftsman lawn care tools and have always had a great experience. Was very disappointed.

Overall
no power boggs down, eats line

The unit has no power, 25cc, you can't keep line on it I went through a box of pre-cut line within the 2nd use and for a total of 5 hours I had gone thru the entire package of line and that was just doing the low grass and drive and sidewalk edge just simply POOR Quality, I'm going back to STIHL maybe 50.00 more but Sears is no longer for me ,except MAYBE hand tools
