I love Sears and I have loved Cratsman products, but if this represents the future of "Craftsman", I am done. I bought the WeedWacker 2 months ago and had used it maybe 6 times before it wouldn't start anymore. When it did run previously, I had the problem
the same reported by others - it would only run at full speed and idle, but nothing in between and it would try to kill if not given full throttle. Now it won't start at all and I have damaged my shoulder trying to get it started. I checked the spark and the gas and both were fine. Tried to call the 800 number for help and got no answer after 10 minutes on hold. Was loading the trimmer into the car to return it when I notice it was leaking fuel/oil. Looked closer and discovered that the cover where the optional cover attaches was loose. Turns out that it needs to be tight to have compression in the cylinder. Besides being a ridiculous design, the quality control inspectors never caught that the two screws had not been tightened (and one was missing entirely). I am keeping the trimmer for now because I don't have the receipt, but I have NEVER been so disappointed with Sears!
purchased this item Last Spring and cut weeds very good. Just cleaned the wacker today put in stabilizer fuel from last year and worked very good after I followed the instructions in the Manuel. memory's going bad, found book. planning to buy attachment this season.
I bought my first one a number of years back with all of the attachments and have been very satisfied with all of them. The motor has the power to run while still being affordable. I would recommend this unit. In fact I just bought one for my soon in law for a Christmas present.
After I assembled the weedwacker, it started and worked like a charm. I was able to clean the fence line and the yard in half the time of using an electric weed eater. I am well pleased with this item.
As a huge fan of 'weedwacking', for some reason I find it theaputic, this weed trimmer never disappoints. I sometime spend over two hours sprucing up our yard and this trimmer leaves a great clean line. Only disappointed it only makes thru two summers. Just wish it had a longer life span.
Bought the same model two years ago. Had pretty good luck with it so when it gave up the ghost (probably ethanol and carburetor problems) I bought the same one. Started right up - haven't used any attachments with it but appears powerful enough.
