Ok trimmer
The trimmer itself is really nice, lightweight and easy to handle but the red line used to actually cut the edges is very flimsy! I tried to pick up thicker line because I was going through one in two seconds and there is not a stronger more durable line that I can use with this trimmer.....very disappointing!

Bad Product
After assembling it, added gas mixture and primed per instructions. After about 20 pulls it still wouldn't start, primed it again and after another 15 pulls it finally started. It ran rough but I was able to trim part of my lawn. The following day tried to start it and after about 20 pulls it still wouldn't start so I packed it up and returned. I figured it was just a bad unit so I exchanged it for another. Got the second one home and gassed it up and primed it and this one wouldn't start at all. Returned it and got a refund. I should have checked the ratings before I bought it 40 one star ratings doesn't say much for this product. Craftsman used to make reliable products but I wouldn't buy one again.

Returned the device

Motor started easily but there was so much drag in the drive assembly that it wouldn't cut even thin grass. Heated the end of the drive so that it couldn't be touched.

No more Craftsman products for me

I have had terrible luck with Craftsman products the last few years (edger, mower, drill) but I thought I would give them one more try. The weedwacker looked good coming out of the box but started giving trouble right off the bat. First time I started it yesterday it took a number of pulls and ran a little rough but I figured it was due to being new. I only ran it a few minutes and it seemed to smooth out. When I tried to use it today I followed directions but it took at least 20 pulls to finally start. It ran for less than 5 minutes and never started again. Needless to say I have boxed it up and I will be returning it to Sears today! For those folks who left the few good reviews the only thing I can say is you are extremely lucky.

So far, so good

I bought this trimmer to replace a 32cc machine (also a Sears brand) that had seen better days after many summers of use. This model looks "clunky" compared to my old one, and there are lot more plastic parts. Comes with a bottle of oil and a few medium duty lines. That being said, even fully fueled, this model is significantly more lightweight than my old one. The Incredi-pull system made it a breeze to start (my old unit had this same system, and it always worked well). So far, this 'wacker performs fine for my needs - as long as you're not trying to cut down a forest, it should be up to most tasks. Vibration and noise weren't bad (I wear gloves & of course, hearing and eye protection). Felt no fatigue after about 45 minutes of use, and that's great. My only concern is longevity - the head (where the trimmer line is inserted) is plastic, and on my old trimmer, it was metal. I could see it cracking if you aren't too careful around concrete. For a bit over $100(when on sale) though, I am happy with this weed wacker.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Stop and Go Unit

I really dislike this weedeater. Used it 2 times and then went and bought a 68 dollar weedeater with the bump and go string head. -This is a stop and go. the string it uses has to to be replaced every 20 to 30 feet. -Very loud. No really realy loud. -Requires body armour due to the fact that the string used throws everything it touchs at you. More than once i got hit in the arms and face. The string shield does a poor job. -Kinda heavy too. -The string that you need to also hurts when it breaks off. Buy the classic green weedeater with the bump and go head. You will be much happier and save money.

Not bad for routine trimming

Doesn't do a great job at thick weeds (needs more power), but should be fine for routine trimming.

Weedwacker 25cc straight shaft (gas/oil mix)

Not much to say but I had a echo for 12 + yrs. it went dn. so I was looking for my next one to buy I came across this one . so far it was easy to assemble, and put together I read the instruction to make sure I understand every thing cause ea. one are different.. add the gas mix.. pumped it 10x turn the chock to it position and puled 3 x and bam it started right up.. just use for a sec or two to get the fell of it.. and felt real good and balance. haven't yet tried it out on my yard totally yet.. so far so good.. I made good choice.. I have other Craftsman equipment they work just fine.. and yes I would recommends this to others. my only grip is I bought this at the today7/10/14 it was $129.88 and came on line and saw it for $123.00 . don't know why there is a difference in price .. again its only $5.00

I would recommend this product to a friend.
