I believe fuel/air adjustments at the factory were made incorrectly and not tested under load. As a result the trimmer will not run to full load capacity. Sadly the trimmer was designed without the ability for the owner to adjust fuel/air mixtures so the trimmer gets a bad rap because it chokes down when cutting. It is a quality control issue.

I didn't believe the reviews, but I was wrong. It took me about 20 minutes to initially start the trimmer. Once it did start and was warmed up, it still bogged down anytime I got into some real weeds. I was able to get it to start the next day after only about 30 pulls. I don't think that ?Incredi-Pull? starting system is any good. It seemed like the engine only turned over once with each pull. It was a bad purchase and I returned it.
Always buy the protection plan! The older models were much more reliable. I have purchased five of these over the years. I also purchased all the attachments so I am stuck. I bought a brand new one this spring. The 2nd time I used it, some parts fell off when I was trimming by the curb. Before I discovered they were gone, a car had ran over them. After 2 weeks in the repair shop, and the first time I used it, the same parts started coming off. I super glued them to the unit. At the end of season one, it's so hard to start, that i have to use cab spray.

CRAFTSMAN PRODUCTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY RELIABLE SO THATS WHY I DECIDED TO BUY A CRAFTSMAN WEED EATER. IT IS EASY TO START AND USE. I LIKE THAT I HAVE THE OPTION TO ADD ATTACHMENTS TO IT. I ALSO FEEL GOOD KNOWING I HAVE A GOOD WARRANTY ON MY PRODUCT.

Don't waste your money, I have two of these that look brand new but sit in my garage broken. it is cheaper to buy a new one than fix them. Used lightly for small homeowner lot. I bought an American made shanidiawee that cost more but with a five year warranty it will still be cheaper than buying a new one of these pieces of **** each year. Don't waste your money buy American. I used to believe in Sears and Craftsman but there quality control must be in China or some other cheap goods country.
