Craftsman  Wheel Kit

I feel these have helped keep my deck more level thus giving me a flatter cut.

I like the low prices Sears offers, so I decided to buy my Craftsman Wheel Kit there. I use my lawnmower alot so the wheels wore down quite a bit. These new ones were easy to install and work great.

The wheels work great, No more uneven cuts. Great product.

It you have uneven lawn..this is for you. My mower did not come with and deck wheels so i put on a set of these about 5 years ago. They have held up well, were easy to install, and make the yard look much nicer allowing for a nice even cut on a less than flat yard. takes about 5 minutes to install and is well worth the little money it takes to by the kit.

The rear wheel kit was uncomfortable to install as far as getting your hand and tool in there. Instead of using the lock nuts, I used regular nuts with locking washers. The FRONT WHEEL kit was a disaster and returned to the store. Even the Sears tech did not want to install them/.

All parts came as advertised, however there are a couple of items to note about this kit:

1.) The inside diameter of the wheels had to be cleaned out with a drill bit because there was molding flash causing the shoulder bolt to fit extremely tightly inside the wheel. Before removing the molding flash, the wheel would not turn on the shoulder bolt as packaged.

2.) The hex bolts that attach the gauge wheel mounting brackets to the deck are slightly too long. Upon assembly, the end of the bolt actually interferes with and presses against the steel deck. This causes paint to be removed, and the potential for future corrosion. Recommend a shorter bolt for improved installation.

3.) The thread on the main shoulder bolt that holds the wheel on to the mounting bracket has too much additional thread - particularly when it is fastened by a locknut. This causes quite a bit of effort to install the lock nut, as you have to turn it through additional (and unnecessary) threads to fasten it correctly. Recommend using a shoulder bolt with less thread. Anything more than 1.5 bolt diameters is excess for the bolted joint.

As another reviewer stated, this kit fits my Ariens Model #93604600 that I bought from **********. I couldn't be happier. The installation was easy and took 10 minutes per wheel. Just make sure you do not tighten all the nuts until you have loosely connected all of them on each wheel.

After reading the reviews I thought I was in for a challenge, but maybe it was my Army 63B years that made it simple. First, ignore the instructions and start the bottom of the bracket first. Get yourself a straight (no side offset preferably) open end 7/16 and put a piece of electrical tape across one side, put your nut in and make sure the tape has it, and slide it along the bracket and start the bolts (angled side first comming in from the straight side). Do not tighten! Just get them started, and pull the wrench off after getting them started (tape should stay with the wrench unless you have cheap tape or an oily wrench). Then start the carriage bolt. Tighten the two 7/16 bolts then the nut on the carriage bolt. Easy...

I took a chance and bought this for my new Ariens model A19K42 riding mower. I expected to have to modify it to fit but was very pleasantly surprised to find it fit perfectly. You need needle nose pliers to hold the nuts for the bottom bolts but that is not a big deal. Overall it was an easy installation.

This kit is a perfect fit for the LTS 1500 (or other brands of this lawn tractor). The bolts on the deck bracket are a bit of a challenge to install due to limited space but, all in all, the install only took 25 minutes. Just be patient. This is a must have for this model tractor since it does not come with the guage wheels.
