First of all - great idea - very poorly implemented. Why not include an audible warning so I don't have to keep checking for a flashing red light - duhhh !. It worked for me for maybe 3 days then started flashing red for no apparent reason (my garage door was closed) and then sometimes flashed alternate red + green which isn't even described in the manual ! Nice try - try again.

This outstanding wireless garage door monitor provides both security and status information by showing whether the garage door is open or closed. I use it to check the garage door status (make sure that it is closed!) each and every night.

Works great, lets you know if door is up or down. Solid Green Light : Door Closed. Red Flashing Light : Door Open. We have it in the kitchen. Just bought another one for a friend. Easy to install.

Installed easily and the adhesive on the velcro seems strong. Worked fine for 1 day. Then it would not register when the door was open. By adding a tilted mount to the unit so that the top points more downward, it seems to be working properly. Instead of using a ball bearing or something to trigger the switch, they should have used a mercury switch. I think the ball gets hung up.

Although this is called a "wireless" garage door monitor, that's not completely true. The smaller box is stuck onto the garage door with velcro, and the larger box must be plugged into an outlet in your home.

This is my third unit in about 14mos. and the receiving unit on all three works for awhile and then it starts sending false siginals. It will indicate that the door is open when it isn't. You then have to check outside to see if this is in fact correct and almost every time it isn't correct. Then you unplug the unit to reset it and hope that it will work correctly for more than a couple days. I am through with this unit and haven't got any satisfaction from Sears to replace the unit at no cost saying basically "sorry your screwed", and we don't care:(

This is a nice easy to use tool. It was easy to setup and configure and its design was well thought out. One issue I am not happy about though is the adhesive they used for attaching the Velcro pads...Very poor choice. I had to super glue the Velcro pads to the door and to the sensor to keep it from falling off. I cannot believe they did not put more research into this critical component. Besides that, I really like it and it is working 4.0 right now - 6 months.

Had this unit for three years now and it works great. On occasssion the mechanical switch in the sender might get caught-up causing a blinking red green light syndrome on the receiver. No big deal, just remove the sender and shake it a bit and depress the reset button on the bottom of the receiver and hold for 10 seconds and it's good to go again. This happens very infrequently.

Unless you have interest in seeing if the garage door is closed while you are standing in it, I'd suggest that you pass on this item. Range is very short (much shorter then advertized) and does not travel through walls well, nor windows. Also having to register to provide feedback is a pain.
