First, allow me to say that I love LED work lights. With that said, I entered into this deal expecting great things from this light. LED lights are extremely simple and very durable as a general rule. There are drawbacks to LED lights (inherent drawbacks of LED's narrow degree of light dispersion and the necessity for many LED's to create a decent amount of light) but the advantages (low power consumption, great operating temperature range, low heat generation) in my opinion outweigh the drawbacks.
This work light seems to suffer from one major flaw and it appears to be one most likely in the manufacturing process. After discovering a problem with the light flickering when in use and being moved around, I began to think that there might have been a problem with the switch since it is a little picky with its operation. Others also seem to have the same flicker problem, so I decided to try to find out what was going on with this light. Upon taking the light apart (warning, yes this will void your warranty and is not recommended for novices) and taking a closer look at the power switch I found that there was a problem with the wiring in the first six inches or so downstream from the switch. My best guess is that when the wire is pulled through the rubber boot at the base of the light when being manufactured, the stress placed on the cord causes an internal break. Inspection showed that the wire was heating up and the few strands of copper that were still held together had even generated enough heat to become discolored. My solution was to de-solder the power cord from the circuit board, cut back the power cord till the wire was solid and intact, then re-solder and re-assemble the light making sure to place a decent amount of wire pull lube on the cord to keep stress down when pulling the cord back through the boot, and finally placing a zip tie around the strain relief portion of the boot to keep the power cord from placing strain on the internal circuit board. After the repair, the light has functioned flawlessly.
Needless to say, with the number of discussions I have shared with others about this light. I don't feel that the problem is an isolated one. My recommendation for this light would be to design a more user friendly power switch, securely support the circuit board and LED's within the light tube so it does not rattle, and fix the power cord issue.
My overall recommendation would be to pass on this work light and look closer at the rechargeable 35 LED work light model number 73904.

I will give a good Bright White Light. Great to use for lighting up an area where light is needed to do a job or some other type of work around the house, car, basement, etc. Do not have to worry about the bulb going out because of hitting the work light against something.

hook does not swivel and it is not designed to be used near vehicles as it is highly flammable if contacted with any chemicals. Says it right on the box. What good is to me now? Funny thing is, I bought it in the automotive section. I love my Craftsman stuff, but this was disappointing. On a plus note, the lights are very bright, but only good for about 4-5 feet of view.

This is a good light, plenty bright and does not get hot. It is a wired light. I like that I don't have to worry about replacing a rechargeable battery becasue it does not have one. This should last for years.

Reasonably bright, high quality, good cord length. Overall for the money this is a nice light. I believe it's a Cooper and ****** sells it for about 10 bucks more. The size allows the light to fit into tight areas in an engine, under a dash, looking up from under a car. This is what I like most about it. For general area lighting ( ie - lighting an entire engine bay ) I suggest going with a more powerful fluorescent style. For a task light this one is the best I could find.

I looked at a lot of options for LED work lights. This is definately the way to go. It plugs into the AC outlet, so there is no waiting for the light to re-charge, or have it die while you are in the middle of a repair job. With 60 LED's, it is plenty bright, yet remains cool to the touch. LED's also mean no bulbs to break or burn out. The hook at the top is handy for hanging the light where you need it. You also won't find a lower price.

The LED lights provide plenty of light but do not heat up like a regular work light. It's not as tough as some other lights I've seen. It's made in China. The hook is plastic and will break someday. It's a Craftsman brand so you should be able to get a replacement from Sears, at least for the warranty period. Sturdier construction would boost this to the 5 star mark.

This light is very bright with 60 LED's in it and it makes it extremely easy to see what you are doing. It is also smaller in diameter than older shop lights so it is easy to get into tighter spaces. One of the draw backs is that the hook on the end does not spin or allow for maneuverability.

This LED light has been very helpful. It has a very long cord that can reach many places my old work light wouldn't. The LEDs are very bright and allow for excellent viewing in both dark and light situations. The extra plug is useful, but the location is a little weird since it is on the bottom.

The only reason I am willing to give this 2 stars is because the light is bright and fits into small places without overheating. That said, the switch is horribly designed. The last time I tried to use the light it was below freezing in my garage and I could not turn the light on without bringing it in the house to warm up first. I would not buy or recommend this light.
