Nice little charger.
I purchased this to maintain my motorcycle battery, however it works well for my small car (430 cca) battery too. On both batteries it slowly tapers off the charge (both charged and charging lights on as described in the instructions) as the battery nears full charge; 14.5v for lead acid batteries. If you want to know the health of your battery, check the voltage 24 hours after charging. It should be at least 12.5v at around 60 degrees. If it is less, you battery is starting to show some effects of age. I haven't had to bring a car battery back from the dead (<12v for lead acid), however this is not the correct charger for that task due to its low amp rating. That's why it is called a maintainer. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

junk
I have bought about 4 of these in the past 2 years and each one has never lasted more than a few months. The first two I dropped from a height of about 3 feet. They are my fault (even though they should be able to take some abuse) but the other two the condition lights stop working and it freezes on the green fully charged light or no lights at all. I hooked one up the other week to my Harley. It showed a green light. Left it plugged in. Went to start the bike after two weeks. The green light was still on. Guess what?....Dead flippin battery. I also have a battery cutout switch so it wasn't anything on the bike. These things are junk.......I buy alot of Chraftsman stuff but these are terrible.........thanks

Diehard Battery Maintainers are great

I bought 2 Diehard Battery Maintainers several years ago and like them so much that I got 3 more. Just recently obtained 2 more for a total of Seven (7) of the product. They all have performed well year-round in hot and cold environments. Have saved a bundle in costs to replace batteries on my fleet of vehicles, some of which are idle for long periods of time. Every one of the Maintainers have been working daily since originally purchased, with no issues. A great product.

Good product

I bought this item, as I had another version of it for many years. Lets just say that my puppy liked the cords lol/ The items works perfect for me since I have 3 vehicles and batteries are expensive.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Simple and Cheap

This is a nice little charger. Although it doesn't have a meter like more expensive chargers, it does have an automatic shut-off. For the price, it's fine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Small and totally automatic for 6 and 12 volt

Item is so small was scared at first because of large heavy battery chargers I have had in the past. The item is lightweight and leaves no room for error. Automatically detects 6 and 12 volt and if not hooked up correctly will not attempt to charge. I highly recommend to keep batteries not used much with a small continuous charge so they don't go bad.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

lights did not work

We needed a new battery charger for our lawn mower. It wouldn't hold a charge for us to use and it was only a year old. The manual stated the lights would illuminate but ours never did. That did not stop the unit from working however. It is a great portable charger and we even used it on a car battery as well. We went with the brand name because we have always had luck with that brand in the past. With the exception of the lights not coming on the charger itself the unit worked well for its intended purpose so we are pleased

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Battery charger? Really? I don't know what this is, but it's no charger.

The box says this is a battery charger. I call shenanigans. If I could rate this zero stars, I would. My motorcycle (you know, those two-wheeled machines with VERY small batteries?) has been plugged in since 8:00pm last night. Charging light on. I went to see if I could start it at noon today. AT NOON! Headlight comes on weak, and bike won't start. No starter clicking. Nothing. NOTHING after being on this so-called battery charger for 18 hours. Nothing but a weak headlamp. After 18 hours. On a small motorcycle battery. Did I mention it's been charging for 18 %$#@ing HOURS!? 18 hours. Motorcycle battery. No start. This charger is ****. Don't waste your time or money. By the way, my bike is a 750, so I'm not asking much of this battery. I rode my bicycle to Sears yesterday to get this %$#@ing piece of **** because my motorcycle wouldn't start (6 month old battery. Significant Other left the key in the ignition on Saturday, so don't blame this on an old, worn out battery).
