I have purchased 4 of the 31 M batteries, and I have yet to exceed 3 years of service life, for each battery. I have two batteries on my 32 ft. boat, 1 for each engine starting, and minor incidental electronics and lights. I have automatic battery chargers that will not overcharge the battery. I use the boat very little. So, to pay $280/ea. and not get a longer life seems awful. In 2014, it would seem to me, a $280 battery would last 8-10 years, not 3 years. Come on Sears, this is not right and should be corrected. This is a ripoff. Jerry Dunford

Had this 1-1/2 years. Expensive top of the line battery tender always connected to it Lost a cell. Needless when I needed it, it was no good. So now take the 75lb battery back to the store and hope they give me a 3 year with it.
the negative and positive screw-on terminals are not the same size, so one lug and wing nut (the positive terminal) from previous setup doesn't attach to the terminal without modifications, and when I asked for nuts to fit the terminals I was given two of the same size.
Not much to say, it started my truck engine in the coldest, longest winter I ever knew. The only drawback is it's really heavy. Getting it into the engine bay requires lots of effort and care. It needs some sort of handle or strap to do this alone. Plus I only had a few tenths of an inch to spare in my Tundra battery box.
Own fishing boat. Bought 2 of these in April 2007. One for starting and one for trolling motor. Use at least 10 to 15 times a season. Never ever had an issue. I keep an on board charger on them when parked during season and pull them in the fall and keep on a charger all winter. I just bought a new starter battery now as I feel safety is important. 6 miles out and I really want to get back to dock with out worry. Still using the trolling battery. Worth every penny.
Listen people and listen carefully,Sears sometimes sells things that are of poor quality, but not this time ,I have had this battery on my winch equipted 4x4 truck for almost a year now it has gone from Dallas,Texas to Emery,South Dakota and also sunny Florida without any glitches,oh yeah its a marine battery but it works great on high demand vehicles you know.
I have three in my boat. Large amp stereo and takes a lot to start this boat I have. I don't see how this battery could **** out, unless you are charging it wrong with the wrong type charger. I go out every Saturday for over two years and never had problems.huge heavy battery but never have to worry. Does take a while to charge but no issues. Starts every time and I run stereo loud all day long while not running boat.
I have had two of these battery's for five years i do alot of trolling with a 24volt trolling motor i have fished for 8-10 hours of constant use and they have never let me down
But it didn't last. The battery is door nail dead after four years. I was running it in my old Land Cruiser, no winch, just the engine and normal stuff. Considering how much I spent, and the size of this battery, I would think it would last longer. I've had Optima batteries do better.

I want to know why any one thinks if they get a three year replacement warranty and they have to use it after a year ,why do you expect a new three year warranty when they replace it with a new battery ? i have a Die Hard Marine Battery i have used since 2008 never a problem and it has set and not been used over every winter,i had to charge it once since i had it,I purchased one of the Optima batteries at Sears and it didn't last two weeks, took it back and got the Die Hard and not a problem yet,so no i will buy this one for my other boat i am rebuilding.
