Just to rebuttal some of the earlier comments, as of Jan 25 2014, this torque wrench DID indeed come with 3 of the batteries it needed (LR44). So, that's a few extra bucks saved right there. Upon first getting the wrench, I could tell that it came with a sub par case. The wrench doesn't snap in, or is in any way secure as it just sits there. If the case is turned upside down, it will fall right out. This was something that I could live with, but it wouldn't hurt for the manufacturer to pony up and include a nice case for a few extra bucks. This was pretty much the only reason I gave it 4 stars. When models 1/2 the price of this one come with a nice case, I see no reason why you wouldn't include one with this. I also wanted to take a deeper look into the battery usage of the device. I hooked it up to a precision amp meter and power supply set to 4.5V ( = 3 * 1.5V LR44 batteries in series). The following were my readings: Off - 6.83uA On - 2.95mA The capacity of LR44 batteries is ~150mAh (milliamp hours). So taking that into account, if the torque wrench was on all the time it would be able to last a max of about 50 hours. But, the torque wrench shuts off it's display after 10 minutes so you could expect it to last longer than that. If you never turned the wrench off yourself, you could expect have the power to turn it on ~300 times. These numbers are all calculated though and were from power measurements I made. The little folding manual says to "Remove batteries when wrench is stored for extended periods", which other people have noted as well. 6.83 MICRO amps is a really really low amount of power being consumed when it's off, so I'm not sure why other people claim the really low battery life. With the battery issue addressed, the wrench itself feels to be very well built. The torque is changed in .5 ft/lb increments which is close enough to what I need it for. The adjustment **** is easy to turn and has a nice confirming click when lock it in place. Will keep an eye on the battery issue and keep this post updated if things change. At this price, you really can't beat the features it has.
This torque wrench works great. It is a little longer than the original click wrench. It is nice to be able to switch to other units when working on imported cars. Also it only needs to be set to less than 25% torque when stored so that is about 67 ftlb. Much better than having to wind it all the way down. Yes it does take batteries as all other electronics do. It does not run on magic, it does run on 3 lr44 batteries. A 357 battery is the same and my local dollar store has multi packs of button batteries so I paid $1 for 6 357's and they work fine. I can't believe all the reviewers bashing this because of the batteries. With all the sales, coupon code, reward points accumulated from previous puchases and reward points received from this purchase it only cost me $19 in the end.
Craftsmanship digital torque wrench make it convenient to set the ft lbs needed for your job. Also offers metric and inch lbs settings as well.
I reviewed and researched similar torque wrenches and found this wrench had all the features I was looking for with a great price to match. This will be a fine addition to the tools in the workshop. I expect to use this frequently as we are a multi vehicle home.
This thing is very long (24"), does not contain the batteries (though they are easier to find then other reviews would have you believe) but it's well worth it. Make life easier.

The item looks good, well packaged and hopefully functional. I am here to help with battery issues. LR44 batteries are required for this item to work. They can be found at your local ******** or similar store. These are the equivalent to the LR44 battery: -AG13 -357 -357A Happy hunting!
Not a bad wrench. When it works, it's very convenient to have the digital display to set the torque setting. BUT, I've had this wrench for about 4-5 months now, and if I leave the batteries in the wrench, it'll drain them fairly quickly, e.g. within a month. For now I just remove the batteries when I'm done, but if I happen to forget, it's somewhat annoying.
