i've had this table saw for about three years, the first two of which were very light-duty years. this past year i've been using it way more and have been pleased. it works well for a beginner woodworker and is as accurate as i need it. i'm sure as my skills progress as do my needs, i may outgrow this saw but for what i paid and the features it offers, it's a good saw. the large miter fence and sliding sled are nice but may be a source of wandering cuts if not checked. as of right now, i'm not sure if i'd have preferred a simple miter slot on both sides of the blade. we'll see, i suppose. the capacity is good for a saw that can fold up to such a small package in the corner of a workspace. i can see some future table top space being added, however, as the supplied accessory tables are a bit crowded. all the accessories store on the saw and it folds up nice and easy. good starter saw with room for growth, IMO.

I bought this saw 5 years ago, I use it professionally and know by experience any tool has to be used to be tested. I use this saw for all applications from cabinet building to general use on a home construction site. I use the table for the router, which works very well. I work as a mobile shop and the fold and store ability is perfect for my use.. If I needed a new table saw today I would by this one again. L.Pruett

I bought four saws at the same time, a bosch $699.99 I hated this one, to much plastic for me and never felt right altough I did like the gravity rise, the Craftsman contractor Hybrid saw, now there's a trip, this saw works great now with a few issues @ the begining, the caftsman cabinet saw, love the granite top on this thing and the Craftsman Professional 10 in. Portable Table Saw, I just love this thing easy to move, easy to use with a good motor (in the right hands and not with people who think you can cut a 4X4 chunk of Cedar in split seconds) this saw is really a rebranded Ryobi BT3100 table saw so if you can't find parts for this try looking up the BT3100, the router table will take any router with the router plate adaptor, the table saw will take a 8" inch dado blade but would suggest 6" as its easier on the motor, dado plates are out there as are zero plates, the complaints I have about this saw have infact been my fault, so if you are having trouble with this saw READ THE MANUAL.

Solid construction, all the important parts are superb quality. Hardly any plastic anywhere, so this tool should last me a very very long time. Packaging was superior and all parts arrived 100% (which I find rare in this category). Lots of solid styrofoam headed to landfill, though. Good thing I have huge trashcan.... :) Found a few easter eggs not mentioned anywhere: accessories can be stored with the table saw (except riving knife, kickback safety & the router kit, although that's an easy tupperware "upgrade"). Folding is super easy - both ways (i.e. to storage or travel configuration), I don't have to go back to gym to grow gorilla sized muscles to convert back and forth. On the (slightly) minus side: Because it's essentially and all-metal table it's pretty heavy - two man lift to/from pickup truck bed. I have limited space in my garage, so having a full sized table saw that's easily movable from here to there (i.e. the corner to the workspace) is very important to me, and the fact that it includes router capability is huge for me - one less gizmo taking up space in my garage. I absolutely love this table saw, easily the crown jewel in my tool collection. Thanks Craftsman for a job well done!! Accessories are huge plus and well worth the price. If you noticed this saw is more than twice the price of the next level down from Craftsman, and the accessories must be reason. Several fences and sliding surfaces for all kinds of cuts. I don't even know where to start... A lot of cool stuff. P.S.: You have to work on your manuals though.... the tiny booklet is simply not effective and hard to read/comprehend. And honestly, I deal with technical manuals all the time so I know what I'm writing about here. Create a collection of online manuals and have a ****REAL DOWNLOADABLE .PDF **** document with recommendations, pro tips, etc!!! COLOR PICTURES PLEASE. Some of the drawings are so poorly chosen (i.e. the perspective is terrible!) they are virtually useless. It wouldn't cost you to print the darn thing, just include a link in your manual. The manual looks and reads like something out of the 19th century. If someone spends $500 for a tool, the least you can do is provide $10 manual or failing that, make one available online...?! And what's up with the grammar? Sears is a big company, surely they can find someone to proofread your manuals?! If you had that I would give you 6 stars!!!!

I bought this saw with high expectations and was happy the first once or twice I used it. The motor burned up about the sixth time I used it ( ripping a 2x4 ). I went back to Sears and inquired about the warranty and was asked by some young kid if I had purchased an extended warranty. I told him no, I figured the manufacturers warranty would cover it since I had only had the saw about six months. He told me these saws had an open box warranty. I asked just what in the hell is that? He said that if I had taken it out of the box and used it a couple of times and everything worked ok that was it. This saw is junk and I will never buy another craftsman tool as long as I live. I have been a carpenter for 37 yrs and own many craftsman tools but I will never purchase another one because of the way they treat their customers and stand behind their tools.

I bought this table saw in 2007. I'ts the same saw as today in every way. I use this saw on every job I do. I'm in home repair, so I need a tough saw. No problems in 5 years. Believe me, i'ts tough.

I have owned this saw for several years now and I'm an occasional hobbiest woodworker. I've made several pieces of furniture with it and used all of it's features including dado blades and routers. I bought it for it's space saving feature and it folds away very quickly and easily. The only downsides I have found are that it is an unusual blade opening size so you have to make your own zero clearance inserts. In terms of accessories it is a victim of it's own individuality. The movable section containing the groove for accessories has to be carefully squared each time you use it for a rip sled or a tenoning jig. The fence is a little small and not exactly vertically square to the table. I made a larger slip over fence that takes care of that problem. Someone mentioned the guard - it's as good as any of them which is to say useless. I don't know how to design a blade guard that would actually be useable and apparently the saw manufacturers don't either. All in all it's an excellent product.

This Craftsman table saw is a quality machine, and surprisingly accurate when put to use. I have found that it has good power and makes my work easier. The miter cuts, cross cuts, and ripping cuts are all accomplished with ease. The folding stand makes it easy to move around the shop and to a different site, when needed.
