This is one of those sets that really looked like a great idea but in using it they are really odd. After a bit of use they become easier to wield and then they are one of the first wrenches I go for on many jobs! I love them!
I was kind of excited about these, A opened end ratcheting wrench could come in handy many times, but unfortunately I was very disappointed in these. Just in messing around with the wrenches the ratcheting "tooth" seems cheap, like its going to pop out after a few uses or break. I've tried to use the wreches to tighten down a couple bolts and nuts and forget about trying to crank down on something, that little ratcheting tooth will slip and you'll have some bloody knuckles before you know it. So then I thought they'd at least work for just threading a nut down about a 12" piece of threaded rod, something I could had done with my fingers. Well that was more frustrating than trying to thread it on by hand with a giant pair of gloves on. The ratchet would skip, jam up etc............. I don't even know how these got out of testing??? I really don't see much of a use for them. I had a trust in craftsman hand tools, they are usually great, but these are more like something I could have bought from ************** for $5.99
Thanks Craftsman now I have a set of useless wrenches that I have to keep and act like I use because my wife bought them for me for a gift!
If you've ever tried to change the fuel filter on a Chevy truck (as I have many times) these wrenches are a frustration/time saver. I have ran into many different senarios where these wrenches have come in handy. These are the kind of wrenches you don't think you will ever need..until you do!
The swing arc to ratchet is huge. Can not apply too much leverage or wrench slips and rounds the fastener. Have had for a few years now and just don't find myself reaching for them. In a tight space that a box end or a socket can't get in that doesn't require much force to break loose or tighten and for whatever reason you just don't want to use a regular open end and you have enough room for a large arc this is the tool. Otherwise useless.
It's about time somebody figured out how to make an open end ratcheting wrench. These work Great. I highly recommend them to everyone I know who works on stuff. Sears Craftsman has some Really nice new innovative tools designs. Kudos to them!
these things work great for what they were made for you can use them were you can't get a boxed end wrench I like them better than the old style. they hold the nut or bolt much better than the old cut out style
These wrenches are awesome, once you get the hang of the ratcheting portion of the wrenches. These are great in tight quarters where you cannot get a socket and ratchet into. These work extremely well, with flange nuts on copper tubing, brake lines, fuel lines and many more places that a conventional wrench doesn't get to, too well.... I bought the SAE and the metric sets of these wrenches and use them in my shop quite regularly....

Nobody can beat a craftsman wrench. I love them so much because they are all American made products. All of my Craftsman tools have been around for so long. i use them to fix bikes, motors, machinery, etc. They are made to last. I would ALWAYS recommend Craftsman tools over any brand.
