This tool has performed well for me. Removing lug nuts, lawn mower blades and other stuburn bolts. It only has 200 Ft. lbs. of torque so it may not remove very large or rusted bolts/nuts. A professional mechanic will not be satisfied with this for that very reason. I will say the battery life if a bit short of what I would like. Hence the 4 stars. If they sit for a month or so they need to be recharged so you get the full power of the tool. Those complaining that it can't remove their wheel lug nuts should recharge the batteries overnight. If it still does not work they may have a bad battery or their lug nuts were over torqued and or rusted. For the price this is a nice addition to the home owners collection.
I work at a dealership and buy alot of craftsman tools. Its alot cheaper than the tool trucks and use to be just as good. This gun is rated at 200lbs but couldn't remove a 80lb lug nut. Im really disappointed in the quality of tools craftsman been putting out lately. I guess its back to the trucks I go.
The phrase, "..let the tool do the job" applies here. I've always been a Craftsman's guy well this tool makes it very easy for an old guy to get it done. It makes heavily torqued nuts and bolts a breeze to take off. I'm really liking this cordless impact!
Bought the 1/2" impact driver to help remove over 150 nuts/bolts that needed replacing in a 15 year boat lift. Plenty of power to either unscrew the rusted nut or break the bolt for removal. Does get very warm to the touch when used constantly, but got the job done. Be sure to use impact sockets. Being cordless means ease of use especially when moving around a large project like a boat lift.
I got this tool in kit that was clearanced out. It came with 2 lithium battery's and a drill. After charging up the battery's I had a few projects that I needed to tackle. First one was a simple tire change on my chevy 1500, went as planned no surprises the took performed as it should. Next job was installing a concrete anchoring bolt, once again went as planned. The last job was a tire rotation and brake job on my car, every thing went smooth and easy. I love how compact the tool is and how easy it is to get into tight spots. I read other reviews before buying and I was skeptical because other reviews said that it wouldn't take off lugs or the battery wouldn't last so far I haven't needed to charge my first battery yet. (its the large capacity not xcp). I also had to drill holes in concrete using my c3 hammer drill using the same battery so the battery is awesome and so is the impact gun.
