This is a good starter set, with an excellent selection of tools, especially for the price. Sure, the tool count is padded by near-duplicates of some tools (I.e. Long and short hex keys), but when you just look at the sockets themselves, this is a great deal.
First off I must say that I am a Craftsman diehard. I have a Craftsman welder that belonged to my great grandfather that I am the fourth generation to weld with and it still performs perfectly. (Just a little bigger than the modern ones). I recently purchase this set and was overall happy with it. I think it is a great value, however I think the quality of the tools has dropped a notch in the last few years, but they still have the lifetime warranty so I guess your covered. All parts were I my set however one socket wasn't labeled- I called and they shipped me out a new one immediately. Only complaint I would have is that the 8,10,11mm wrenches are extreme my small as well as th 7/16 and 3/8. They were what I call the baby wrenches or the short thin ones. I just bought replacements for those. Otherwise very happy.
Great for the price has everything u need to start out. Keeps u organized. A little slow on putting the trays together because the parts bags are not organized accordingly.
Excellent tools, as are all Craftsman tools!!! I have always purchased Craftsman tools. The're very sturdy for anything you want to work on. I have also given these tools to my sons as gifts!!! They love them too!

I bought this set a while ago thinking it would be a good starter set for working on cars, but now that i have been doing more work i realize that most of the tools aren't necessary for a starter set. The set has a lot more standard sockets than metric sockets. Which unless if your working on older domestic cars you probably want more metric. And more than half of the sockets are 12 point and most bolts on cars are 6 point. However all of the tools in here are ok quality. Just make sure that the tools apply to what you are going to use them for.
I paid more money for the tool box and was told by the sales man it was one of there good boxes-- The box is a cheap and poorly build the draws jam constantly and need two hands to open. What a rip now I need to buy another box-- I should take the tools back and buy another set???
