Product Description
Block plane with a grey cast iron base with bottoms machined smooth and true. Durable epoxy coating for long lasting protection. Cutter is adjusted for thickness and evenness of shavings by loosening the clamping wheel and manually adjusting cutter as required. Cast in finger rest at front of plane for comfort during use.

I found it difficult to get a correct alignment of the blade. When I tightened the wheel, the blade would shift just enough that my cut was only coming from the right side of the blade (about 1/3). I could not hold the blade in place sufficiently to keep this from happening. The depth of cut is also hard to control, but the unevenness of the cut is what frustrates me about this plane. Spend the extra money to have more fine adjustment. If you do get this, set aside plenty of time to hone it in. The bottom of mine was not smooth or flat.

I bought this for my son. He is currently attending Vocational School for Carpentry and he does little projects in the basement......He loves it! It's one of the best Craftman tools I have ever bought him!

This little giant is very effective and effecient to trim edges of drawers etc. Works well and is easy on the hand. Good tool.

This is another version of the basic block plane that has been in use for decades. This plane lacks adjustments for the cutting blade and for the sole which would allow the user to tune how the plane performs in specific projects. Still, this plane is very reasonably priced and offers the wood crafter a well-built solid tool for smoothing the ends of cut boards ("blocking").
