The tool has a smooth sliding telescopic mechanism that does not make it weak when extended. Most other magnetic pickups will feel as though they are about to bend when picking up larger items. The light makes the tool quite convenient for situations where a light is needed in a small space, even when you are not picking something up. The rubber handle seems of good quality and has a Craftsman logo imprinted on the side. The magnet seems to be as strong as claimed. Just be careful making your way in an engine bay is the strong magnet might attach to unwanted items along the way, making your progress to the dropped piece difficult. It can be almost like playing a game of Operation.

It's just so handy I wouldn't be able to do a job without one. I'm so fumble fingered I keep dropping nuts and bolts into places where I can't reach,or even see where the thing fell to. Did you ever drop a bolt or nut and then spend 1/2 an hour trying to find it? I have - many times, and if your looking at this, you have too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they could improve it a little by making the head swivel a little. But, hey - nothings perfect, and you don't get to heaven till you die, Right? Put one of these in your tool box, you won't regret it.
