I have owned one of these soldering guns for about 7 years. My hobby is electronics/electrical repair and so I do a lot of soldering. I use this gun for pretty much everything and it has never failed me- except for that time it fell off the workbench :(... As long as you are carefull not to overheat the internals (don't hold the trigger for more than ~2 min. continuously), it will work for you for at least as long as it has worked for me!

So far it looks great and comes with 3 different tips, cleaning tool and some solder. No case but a graet price.

I bought this for my boyfriend for his automotive class. He says he likes it more than other solders. It heats quickly and it has other tips. The price is reasonable.

First of all I really like the package deal that came with my Solder Gun. All I had to do was to open the package and start soldering. What more can I say, I really like it and I am quite happy with it.

This gun has constantly given me problems and worked good for the first time i bought it. After about three months of use (once a month) it now takes over 10 minutes to heat up and barely gets hot enough. The tip assembly comes out of the gun constantly and when the tip is pressed against the solder, the light dulls and the gun loses power. I don't know if there is a warranty, but if there is i hope mine was just a lemon and the next one is good. Sorry craftsman, but i am just telling the truth. I will keep purchasing Craftsman, because besides this product everythin is always quality.

Be careful, I have been useing solding guns for over 45 years now and I love craftsmen tools. This one came apart as I was using it today. The tip and the parts it is attached to fell out of the gun and spilled hot solder onto my worktop. This was not the solder I was useing for my project. The tip is screwed to the projections coming out of the gun but the projections are soldered to the transformer. Seems to me that they should also be screwed and not soldered.

The joint heats up in a matter of seconds and it offers a lot of power. I am a beginner "solderer," but I'm having so much fun with it! I like the idea that it has two heating options and the light is good also. I found the joints to be hard to be unvaried and hard to use, but then again I am a beginner. I find it pretty safe,(for a solderer), and very durable.
