Craftsman  NEXTEC 12.0V Lithium-Ion Circular Saw

I've used this a few times, and it really only works fair on 1/4" ply. But it does come in handy for this purpose. I would recommend, but for only light work.

I used this saw to cut 12MM laminate flooring and it worked very well in this application. I can see that this will be good for other small DIY projects around the house. It would have been better if the purchase had included the battery and charger. Luckily I noticed that it didn't at the store and purchased them separately. If I had to make a separate trip to Sears I would have been more annoyed.

I was skepticle when I purchased this saw that is only 12 volts. But I had a repair on the siding of my house to do so I took a chance. The little thing can slice through 3/4 inch cement board as if it was a/c. It went through 3/4 treated plywood also. It did the job eaisly with one battery.

It was a nice little trim saw while it lasted, but it failed after only two years of occasional light use.  Sears Blue Crew explained warranty is for one year with receipt, so I lose.  Lesson learned.

Handy little saw, but the discription says a battery and charger are included! The price reflects that at least the battery should be there. 

I bought this saw to do some trim work around the house.. This saw is a great workhorse. It has plenty of power for a 12 volt saw.

I like the bolt on dust collection chute, makes clean up a breeze. All the adjustment knobs are a bright color which makes it easier to identify which knobs you need to move. I also like the fuel gauge on the front of the handle, it will let you know when how much time you have left before you need to switch out the battery.

One of the nicest features the saw has is the blade lock on the opposite side of the saw, it really is super easy to change the blade out if needed.

One thing I am disappointed in is there is no place to store the blade tool and I can't seem to find an item number for an edge guide that says it's sold seperately.

I have other saws but this one works for light duty applications (i.e. smaller pieces of wood). Sheet wood cuts nicely if you have a guide to keep the cut straight.

I did not expect that the saw is not fit for cutting a wood with thickness more than 1/2 inch and it's cannot be use for more than five minutes continuously.

I bought Craftsman's Nextec 12 Volt Lithium-Ion 3 3/8" Circular Saw this morning to add to my Nextec collection. It was on sale and I needed something along this line to do some trim and molding work on a project. This saw looked like the perfect tool. I was a little skeptical by how small it was and only powered by 12 volts, but when I got home I put this little tough guy straight to work and the work it did was suprising. The built in fuel gage lets you see how much power you have remaining in the battery. One note: this unit does not come with a battery and does not come with a charger. I knew this when I made my purchase as it was printed clearly that those items had to be purchased separately. This was not a issue with me since I have a quickboost charger and 4-batteries for my other Nextec tools.
