Bought this to augment a smaller one we had, so we could cut some larger branches. Actually was much harder (even on the small branches) than the small one we already had. Should it need to be sharpened when new? Or are we missing something?
I bought this lopper because every one that I bough broke in one season. I don't mind paying for a tool but I expect it to out live me. I'm getting old. Can't walk too fast. this tool did what hey said it would and I still have it
I used this lopper to cut a substantial amount of many different types of wood ranging from red maple to pine to red bud. The loppers performed very well. The large cutting surface makes cutting large diameter branches easier; this tool is able to cut branches that other loppers are not be able to. The lopper is very well constructed; the cutting head is forged and then machined to close tolerances. It is worth spending the extra $15 to upgrade from lower grade loppers.
1st love the quality and the sharpness and hydraulic like power!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can prune small limbs now without having to have my saw on me when i climb!!!!!!!!! love the price too!
Can cut up to 3'' limbs with ease. My 75 year Aunt and Uncle love these loppers. Good for general lopping. I recommend greasing the blade area, this will make cutting easier. Extremely sturdy design, can handle the biggest jobs.

I bought this lopper figuring it can cut big limbs - I was mistake. Then I got the Craftsman compound action lopper - it had the leverage but lacked the big jaw that I needed. I hopes Sears is listening. Please mate the big jaws with the compound action lopper.
