I've only used it once so far but I got it all put together , took about 10 minutes. It worked great, no problems. I haven't really figured out how to get the string to come out but I just do it manually. For me that works fine. I love it, got a 3 year warranty for $6.00 when I purchased it, what more could you want.... does the job, great price !
This is without a doubt the most frustrating line trimmer I have ever owned! I can cut a few feet and the line breaks, sometimes right at the hole in the spool housing. I finally got through the two spools of line provided with the machine and then rethreaded them with the .065 spiral type line that Sears sells in the hope that it might hold up better. No such luck, it still breaks off after cutting a few feet. It's almost as if the RPM's are too high for the line to withstand! I'm going to try some .080 line and see how that works. It's not recommended, but at this point I don't think I have anything to lose because if that doesn't work I'll be shopping for another trimmer!

This item works fine as far as cutting. I don't like the angle adjuster, it seems like its unnecessary and seems like a weak point for breakage. I don't like the auto line feed. Every time you pull the trigger, let go for a 2 seconds, then pull the trigger again the line feeds and cuts off the old line, I use the stop and go method for my trimming a lot, so this feature does not work at all for me. Plus it was never difficult to bump the line feed in the past. The trimmer has 2 lines instead of 1. This is great for the product sales, as you use up the line twice as fast. I've never had a problem with the cutting abilities of 1 line, so I find 2 lines at once a big waist of money and my time, as you have to change the line spool twice as often.
I am very happy with the way this string trimmer has performed thus far. It has a very wide path and cuts through thick grass and weeds. It is solid construction and was easy to attach the few parts out of the box.

I have only had great success in the past with Craftsman products but this weed eater really pushed my limits. First, its auto feeder system never worked. We tried multiple different fixes but everytime the string would work for about 1 minute then dissappear.
i purchased this trimmer from sears and have used it only once so far. i am pleased with how it works but i cant say its extraordianrily good. It gets the job done and for the price i paid, i would say its a great value.
I bought this trimmer because the last one died on me and I rely on Craftsman tools and equipment to be dependable. I am not disappointed with the trimmer compared to the cost. While it is not a heavy duty trimmer it does get rid of weeds and other unsightly, wild growing grasses. If you are looking for a trimmer to do a lot of edging I suggest getting one with a bit more power and thicker string. But for the price it serves my purpose well.
I bought this because our gas weedeater is heavy. We have a large yard and after a while, my arms ache. I always thought electric weedeaters would not work as well. This is amazing! You just have to be careful of the cord. It trims as well as the gas one. It does seem almost as heavy tho. I like the device that keeps you from getting too close to fences, etc.. Very happy. I only use this where the 75' cord will reach. It starts to be a pain dragging too much electric cord around but I have outlets on 3 sides of the house. For the "back 40", I will still use the gas trimmer. Very pleased with this.
It is a good trimmer. Works great. Ideal for someone who just wants to plug into an outlet and go and not have to deal with gas or oil and the smell that comes along with it.
