CRAFTSMAN® PPE GUIDELINES
TAKE PRIDE IN USING YOUR TOOLS SAFELY
HERE ARE A FEW COMMON THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND THAT OFTEN PREVENT US FROM BEING ABLE TO SHARE YOUR PHOTOS:
- Proper PPE should always be worn appropriately when any person(s) is in a photo with a CRAFTSMAN® tool (regardless of whether it’s in use or not, and including bystanders).
- Never stand a tool up on its battery when any person(s) is also in the photo.
- Children cannot use the tools (or be nearby) in visual content.
- Eyeglasses and sunglasses do not count as proper safety PPE.
- Never rest a tool on an unstable surface.
- Must ensure hand placement is in the correct place on the tool, especially the handle (if applicable).
- Proper protective footwear should always be worn.
Always reference your CRAFTSMAN® tool manual for proper tool usage and installation of required tool accessories (handles, guards, etc.).

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Tools operators and other workers shown in construction sites settings should be shown wearing high-visibility apparel, hard hats, and work boots.
- Use of hearing protection should be shown for certain applications where the workpiece and accessory can produce high noise levels – i.e. drilling holes in metal studs with a hole saw.
- Hearing protection should be added for certain applications or environments where the operator is exposed to moderate noise levels for extended periods of time – i.e. user operating drill in a factory environment.
- Tool operators shown working at height should be shown wearing appropriate fall arrest gear and using only tethered tools.
- Use of gloves recommended for heavy use where heat due to friction can cause sockets to get hot.
