When and how did you get into using tools/doing projects?
Both my father and grandfather were handy with tools and I've been working with tools for about as long as I've been able to lift them.
What do you do when you're not tinkering in the garage and working on other projects?
I restore tools, improve the property, and work on keeping the house repaired and in working order.
What's the project you're most proud of?
My most proud project was the making of a 4 foot diameter butcher block oak table, while in college, living in a small apartment. I had the college Craft Center and a storage unit workshop as resources to build the big table.
Any stories of DIY disaster?
The biggest DIY adventure was attempting to setup a dishwasher. Even reading the installation instructions resulted in 3 attempts to install the machine. I'm a BIG believer in both Protection Agreements and professional installation, now.
Why do you use Craftsman tools?
I'm a 3rd generation Craftsman tool user, with my father being an engineer and my grandfather a tradesman.
How did you get your DIY skills?
My DIY skills come from experience doing projects like cabinetry work and being a prolific reader of How-To books.
Anything you have to say to other craftsmen out there?
Everyone starts out at a different level and it is a real privilege for me to help anyone expressing an interest to become better at whatever they're trying to do.
