The 4 Ton Lift Service Jack can handle almost anything.
Where other jacks might fail, the Craftsman High Lift Service Jack is bound to get the job done. When you need to lift a heavy vehicle, you want to be absolutely sure the jack can withstand the weight. Thankfully, this one has what it takes. This jack can handle up to 4 tons (8,000 pounds) of weight. It features a heavy-duty chassis that adds strength and durability, as well as an overload valve system to help prevent failure and to ensure safe operation.
This 4 Ton Lift Service Jack has a low profile design capable of lifting vehicles from 4 to 20 inches high. It's low enough for small sedans and many sports cars, but strong enough to life heavy vehicles like SUVs. Other heavy-duty jacks might be difficult to wield, but this one has rear casters that pivot 360 degrees for easy maneuverability. You'll be able to get the saddle in position much easier and with less effort.

After around ten uses on my Jeeps, it stopped lifting anything more than a couple hundred pounds. Since it was over a year they would not do anything to help. I changed the jack oil and searched for a leak but found nothing and the new oil did not help. I researched this jack and found that it was made in China and lots of people were experiencing problems with these cheaply made Chinese boat anchors. I strongly suggest buying a quality jack like Snap-on, Milwuakee, or Hein-Werner and you will be much better off. I used to love Craftsman and still like most of their hand tools, but they subcontract out most of their jacks and some other tools to companies who build them using cheap and very low tolerances.
This jack is a good quality jack for the money. I have warrantied this jack before due to a mechanical failure but sears is good about doing that. Does the job it's needed to do.
I bought this jack in 2008 hoping it would be a good one but I regret buying it now. Don't get me wrong it is dependable, I didn't have any problems with it leaking oil or only reaching half its height limit or a wheel failing like some reviews say. I had other problems with it. 1: the lifting arm wouldn't lower unless weight was applied to the lifting arm-very annoying, 2: It wouldn't go down low enough to jack a car with a flat tire- it only had a minimum height of 5 3/4 inches, 3: No side handles-Made it harder to carry, 4: Too heavy at times-Also made it harder to carry. This jack has too many little flaws to it to justify buying it. The model I bought was very similar but it wasn't the low-profile version and the paint scheme was black and yellow, not black and silver, and it didn't have the labels on the side. Next time I buy a jack it probably won't be Craftsman. The next jack I buy will be a low-profile aluminum unit with side handles and a foam covered handle to protect the vehicle, and I will probably buy a Blue-Point even though they are 3 to 4 times the price through Snap-On but repair parts for them can be bought online. The bottom line: DO NOT BUY THIS JACK!! it is garbage.
My Husband wanted a Floor jack for Christmas and it was at the top of his list. He loves to work on cars and trucks. We have a 1964 Ford pickup he's going to build from the ground up and I wanted him to have the best so this 4 ton floor jack is the one I got. I hope he loves it!
Jack leaked after 1st use but I didnt take it back. Got side tracked and forgot about it untill I needed it again jack would not lift more than half way up store said out of warranty. added oil and it worked till oil leaked out again.Craftsman used to stand for quality but now stands for junk.
Christmas gift from my wife, out of the box worked great. 2 months later went to jack up an axle on my Jeep and nothing. Tried with nothing on it and nothing. Called Sears, apparently mechanical items only have a 1yr warrantly on them not a life time. You have to have proof of the purchase date to return it within that year.
